According to reports, Chelsea have made a final attempt to keep promising youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi at the club by planning to make him the highest paid teenager in the Premier League.
Callum Hudson-Odoi has attracted 4 transfer bids from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich, with the latest bid in the region of £35 million. However, Chelsea want him to stay.
Regardless, the youngster has been stalling on signing a new contract he has been offered, and the club is aware that he can leave for free when his current contract expires in 18 months.
The player wants to be guaranteed first-team opportunities which he has found difficult under Maurizio Sarri.
However, Chelsea are reportedly offering him a £70,000-a-week contract which will make him the highest paid teenager in the Premier League as well as the highest paid teenager in the club’s history.
Callum Hudson-Odoi will be going home with a £50,000-a-week salary plus £20,000-a-week in add-ons.
Regardless, his best chance of being guaranteed first-team football may lie at Bayern Munich based on how the Bavarian giants have gone all out to land his signature.
The player wants to develop, and only regular playing time can guarantee that. Apparently, he doesn’t have his eyes on the money as at yet.
The likes of Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson have shone in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund and Hoffenheim, respectively, whilst playing regular first-team football.
The promise of regular first-team football which will allow the player to develop his skills on the pitch will be a major factor that could decide if Chelsea loses the player to Bayern Munich or not.
