Chelsea to go all out for Hirving Lozano?

Reports suggest that Hirving Lozano has emerged as a transfer target for Chelsea in their bid to bolster their attack in January.

Calcio Mercato have claimed that the Blues have been keeping tabs on the Mexico international in the last few months and are preparing a January bid for the prolific attacker.

However, the Blues will face fierce competition from AC Milan who are also interested in the 23-year-old. Lozano has been impressive for PSV Eindhoven in all competitions this season.

He has found the back of the net 15 times and provided 8 assists for PSV in all competitions this season, He also proved himself in the UEFA Champions League against the likes of Inter Milan and Tottenham Hotspur.

Lozano will be an ideal option for Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea due to his attacking philosophy. Sarri currently relies on the likes of Morata, and Giroud who have failed to deliver, thus placing the onus on creator Eden Hazard who has been living up to the billing, but he can only carry the weight for so long.

The Blues have struggled immensely when opposition teams devise a means to mark him out of the game. Therefore, Chelsea need more prolific attackers to be able to unlock opposition defenses when such situations arise.

Seeing how Maurizio Sarri has resorted to the false 9 system in recent games, Lozano is an ideal candidate to provide the goals in such a system, if Sarri is to persist with it, as he is not a typical center-forward.

These are speculations for now but if Chelsea can acquire Hirving Lozano based on reports, then Maurizio Sarri will definitely have more bite in his attack in the second half of the Premier League season.

It’s apparent that Chelsea need more ruthlessness in attack and the Mexican will be a welcome addition as he has shown the quality to find the back of the net and also create chances for teammates consistently.
