Maurizio Sarri has stated that Chelsea’s Europa League 4 nil win against PAOK Thessaloniki at Stamford Bridge on Thursday will not influence his Premier League thoughts.
The Blues responded in style after a miserable 3:1 loss to Spurs at Wembley, as they made it 5 wins from 5 games played in the Europa competition.
France international Olivier Giroud scored a brace for the Blues while exciting youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi and substitute Alvaro Morata scored the third and fourth goals respectively.
The bashing was made easy after PAOK were reduced to 10men after Evgen Khacheridi was sent off for being the last man and fouling Giroud who appeared to be through on goal.
However, Sarri will definitely stick with his preferred starting lineup when Fulham come visiting this weekend.
“In the last match the problem was the team, not one or two players,” Sarri said.
Meanwhile, Giroud’s performance in the game has kept him in good standing and he might start ahead of Alvaro Morata against Claudio Ranieri and his men in the London derby.
The Italian boss also insisted that impressive youngster Hudson-Odoi is not ready for the rigors of Premier League football.
He added that the youngster benefited from the early red card to Khacheridi and this provided him with more space to exploit.
Sarri said: “I want to see him in a match where we need also the defensive phase.”
